Saw this online the other day and thought I’d give it a go.
NORTH WALES SHORT STORY WRITING COMPETITION
Fancy yourself as a creative writer or is writing already one of your leisure pursuits? Then you’re well qualified to enter an exciting new short story writing competition organised by the Llandudno & District Writers Club, in conjunction with the North Wales Weekly News – with a top prize of £200.
Your stories can cover crime, romance, comedy, travel, adventure, sport or any other genre you choose. The only stipulations are that they must be set in North Wales and be no longer than 1000 words in length.
The competition will be judged by the Executive Editor of the North Wales Weekly News, Linda Roberts, and Pam Crane, the Editor of the Writers’ Club magazine. The six best entries will be published by the newspaper over consecutive weeks immediately after the competition closes in a month’s time.
THE PRIZES
1st – £200 in cash.
2nd – A brand new Kindle Paperwhite worth £100 donated by LLANDRILLO COLLEGE, Rhos on Sea.
3rd – One night stay for two in a Classic Room at the ST. GEORGE’S HOTEL, St.George’s Place, Llandudno, with full Welsh breakfast.
4th – £30 worth of book tokens from WATERSTONE’S of Mostyn Street, Llandudno
5th – Two free tickets for THEATRE CYMRU’S Christmas production of Cinderella.
6th – 7-DAY EXPLORER PASS donated by CADW.
In addition, all entrants will be given free membership of the Llandudno & District Writers Club for the next 12 months.

Please send the entry fee of £5 to this address. The closing date for all entries is 10th July 2014. Cheques should be made out to Llandudno Writers Club. No employee of the North Wales Weekly News may enter, but the competition is open to everyone else, including Llandudno Writers’ Club members as long as they use a pseudonym!
